Reef Escape: Where Will You Go?
Reef is super stoked to announce their newest girls’ collection for summer 2017!
(Photo: Hailee Steinfeld, Reef Escape Ambassador)
Reef has always been known for comfort that is why it comes to no surprise that they designed an entire collection with the consumer in mind. They learned that most branded rubber sandals disappoint in the following ways:
- Uncomfortable Footbeds
- Slippery Outsoles
- Quality Concerns
- Health/Environmental Issues
They heard it loud and clear: Quality is synonymous to durability, and a sense of confidence that sandals won’t break. While basic style is expected, comfort and strength is a huge plus.
How REEF responded:
- A contoured footbed with arch support, heel cupping, and cushion rubber base. Cushion Rubber is a new technology that combines EVA foam with rubber.
- Molded anti-sip outsole for traction.
- The new oval toe post is sure not to break. They included an all new “washer” that is 50% stronger than before. This stopper is integrated with Teflon, a fluoropolymer, which is water and heat resistant. A TPU strap just makes it more durable than ever!
- 100% PVC Free. Environment and people friendly all the way.
Time to ditch your ordinary rubber sandals for something better. Grab a pair (or two) before summer officially starts!

OAKLEY PHILIPPINES PAYS TRIBUTE TO OUR ROOTS
Oakley is known to come up with a variety of style not only in their eyewear models but also in their apparel line. For the remaining “-ber” months, Oakley Philippines decided to design something closer to home.
The new limited edition Oakley shirt features a Philippine jeepney print designed by its house graphic artist, Daje Pinpiño, who says, “We trashed the idea of another three-stars-and-a-sun design as we wanted it to be a representation of the culture of the country now. We want to show the everyday living of most Filipinos by using the jeepney as our iconic symbol.”
If you look closely, you will see that it isn’t the typical Sarao we ride, but rather a hybrid combination of a military tank and a jeepney. This is to add the distinct “Oakley character” into the print. The design might be enough reason for you to get one, but what makes it more special is the shirt itself. The shirt is made of O Hydrolix fabric, a patented cloth by Oakley that keeps sweat off the skin for lasting comfort.
You can get these limited edition shirts with every purchase of Oakley eyewear starting October 15 until December 31, 2016. (DTI – FTEB SPD Permit No. 15247 Series of 2016)

Oakley and The Junior Golf League continue to build a competitive Golf future for the Philippines
Back for its 4th year, Oakley Golf Cup makes another step forward for the golf scene of the country. Gathered at the Sherwood Hills Golf Club, about a hundred participants composed of CEOs, seasoned players, enthusiasts and aspiring athletes swung their golf clubs to support the annual fundraising tournament for the benefit of The Junior Golf League.
As a renowned leader in eyewear and sport-specific gear, Oakley continuously thrives to empower sportsmen of different fields to enhance their performance by presenting innovative gear and creating opportunities that allow active individuals to improve their skillset through friendly competitions such as Oakley Golf Cup. “Four years ago, we have decided to come up with an annual fundraising tournament to support the golfing community here in the Philippines and to help shape-up the Filipino talent in competing to both national and international levels.” Says Carlo Dionisio, Marketing Manager of Oakley Philippines.
The competition was fun but tough, players did not fall short to give a highly-competitive character in a 13-hole game format. The skills of the players were tested – even the seasoned players were pushed to bring out their best in order to win. Playing golf is never easy. There are a lot of factors that could affect the performance of a player but Oakley innovates products that help the players win, such as the revolutionary eyewear Prizm Golf Radarlock Path sunglasses.
Prizm fine-tunes vision became a huge leverage for players that needed protection from the external factors of the game such as sun, wind and impact. The Prizm is built with High Definition Optics designed to withstand high-impacts and provide a better vision on the field.
Prizm surely made its place in the world-class quality category among Oakley’s other lines. It has Ultra-precise color tuning for any environment. It also fine-tunes individual wavelengths of color and sharpens visual acuity to reveal nuances that would be missed by the naked eye.
As the scores were tabulated, the best of the best were announced during the awarding ceremony. Gabie Rosca and Ira Alido came out on top in the Junior Golf Division (girls and boys) with 71 and 69 strokes respectively. The Pro Division was dominated by Ronald Pactolerin with 79 strokes while Alex Montemayor clinched victory in the Ladies Division with 74 strokes.
Rosca and Alido will also represent the Philippines in the upcoming IMG Academy Junior Golf Championships in San Diego, California.
It was a neck and neck battle among the division players and only four names made the cut. Ray Sangil was named Division A champion, Gio Dela Paz for Division B, Weng Traspe for Division C and Johnny Lu for Division D.
